Boy Scout Troop 31 of Ramsey, NJ!
Every year boy scout troop 31 of Ramsey, NJ comes down to St. John’s Soup Kitchen to make sandwiches and serve breakfast. We are thankful that they came and helped us out this past Saturday and made sandwiches! It was great because the sandwiches the boys made were the ones we served for breakfast that morning. This created a personal connection between the boy scouts and their serving experience. The service will be more memorable for them because they served something they had made themselves. We hope their time at St. John’s offered some valuable lessons about charity and served as a humbling example to the situation some people find themselves in. Unfortunately, in our world it is a lesson that must be learned and it’s best to learn early. The youngest generation is in the best position to fix the problems we face today and the problems we will face in the future.
We want to thank the Boy Scout troop once again for coming out and helping us out this past Saturday. It means a lot to us and the the troop to come out and serve those that are less fortunate than ourselves. We hope to see them again soon and we’re hopeful we can get them back sometime soon to start a different project at the property. There’s always a lot to do at the soup kitchen and hopefully we can organize a project to get them involved once again! Thanks guys and great luck in all your endeavors!
